A Very Happy Week (Part 2)

Wow I am terrible at keeping up with things. Sorry for the delay, but here is part 2 of the trip diary.

Friday was spent at Chelsea Market which was all decorated for Halloween.

We had lunch there and then headed back to the hotel to rest for a few minutes before heading to Rice to Riches in Soho.

We then took the subway to Grand Central to look around there and grab some dinner, then back to the hotel.

Saturday was the big day, we got up early and caught a cab to Grand Central to catch an early train to Poughkippse (last stop on Metro North). Getting off the train was a little bit crazy since that train was turning around and heading back towards the city, with passengers waiting to get on the train. We almost couldn't find the bus to take us to the Dutchess County Fairgrounds. However, I looked around the corner and the bus was indeed there. After paying the fee, we got on the bus (we where one of the last on, so seating was a bit limited).

It really didn't take us that long to get there and we got right off and headed straight to where they take the tickets since we had pre-bought ours (it was part of a Metro North deal). We say the Frisbee dogs first and then went to grab some lunch.

After checking out some of the barns, we made our way over to seeing the sheep.

I had only bought one thing, but both mom and Miriam bought a few. In fact, Mi had bought a Puffin she named Lucas.

We did some more exploring, had a little bit of a snack before heading towards where we where supposed to meet the bus. While waiting for it, we had a nice conversation with some women who had taken the bus with us. It was a little bit of overwhelming getting on the bus, but not terrible. Mom and I had a great time, Mi wasn't as enthused.

Once we got back to NYC, we ate and then headed back to the hotel since we had to get up early the next day to catch our train back home. Overall it was a great trip. Not sure when we'll be able to get back up there, but it prob not until after the new year.

Hope to have another post soon!
